Happy 2011!

There are only two kinds of people in the world. Friends... and friends I have yet to make. Hoping to make lots more of them in 2011.

Book Quote for Today

“We treat you like family” is not a good slogan for a restaurant. It would mean that they complain about how long it’s been since you visited, notice that you’ve gained weight, and ask you to take out the garbage.

Today's Book Quote:

Winning the biggest and most expensive toys is not the most important thing. After all, how much fun is a seesaw without a friend on the other side?

Today's Quote from the Book

I will take "expert" advice with a grain of salt. After all Mr. Frankenstein was a doctor.

Today's Quote from the Book

It’s such a thin line between being a devoted fan and being a stalker. I think the line is somewhere around the point where you can identify the contents of their trash can.

Today's Thought

True the pen is mightier than the sword. But I'd much rather be jabbed by a pen.

Realization for the day:

I've lowered my concept of "rich". I now define it as: "Not having to look at Fluffy as a potential entree."

Today's quote from my book

I really hate my boss. She gripes at me constantly. She pushes me too hard. And she never believes my excuses when I call in sick. Self-employment is tough.

Today's Quote from the Book

I will no longer consider that “fur” on my ceiling fan as an artistic statement.

Today's Quote from the Book

My cat is smarter than I. If not, I’d be sitting on the couch scratching myself while the cat went off to work each day.

Today's Quote from the Book

Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he’ll call in sick every time it’s good weather.

Today's Book Quote

My last good reference letter said, “Plays well with others. Doesn’t eat paste.”

Today's Quote from the book

When I saw a young college boy looking at me, I thought I was going to be like Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate. Instead, I was apparently more like Mrs. Kravitz in Bewitched.

Leslie Nielsen ... we miss you!

Good luck. We're all counting on you...

Today's Quote from the Book

When asked how many people worked in the Vatican, Pope John XXIII (1958-63) is said to have replied: “About half, I think.”

Today's Quote from the Book

I’ve reached that awkward age … somewhere between “I’ve got it all together” and “It’s all shifted one foot lower.”

FB

Yeah, I'm trying to keep up with the "latest" social networking. But I'm not sure what that is nowadays! I'm facebooking, 'bleeting', blogging, linking, etc., and all I'm sure of is that it makes me more ADHD than ever!! So, for the latest updates on the book, please friend me on Facebook! That's where I spend most of my time! Thanks! Christee's FB page

Book Release Party

Sure, it's been a while... Yeah, cough, cough, mumble, mumble... My ADHD kicked in and I saw a shiny object, chased it for a while, then went out into the yard to bark at passing cars, and then realized I needed to earn some money so I could afford to stay in my yard, etc... (Kicking the dirt and hanging head in  appropriately embarrassed fashion)

But now I'm back. And I'm thrilled to say that the book is finally going to be released on October 30, 2010!

Join us for the world's strangest book release party for In Celebration of Elastic Waistbands!

We'll celebrate the first day of Elastic at the Acadiana Book Festival in Lafayette, Louisiana. More details will be coming soon.

Hope to see you there!

Great Quote

I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it's such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her.

Ellen DeGeneres

Quote for the Day

I am totally opposed to all animal testing. They have so much trouble trying to fill in those little circles that they get all stressed out.

That’s just mean.

Thought for the Day

Karate is a form of martial arts in which people who have had years and years of training can, using only their hands and feet, make some of the worst movies in the history of the world.
