So, if a holiday falls in a government shutdown, does it make a sound?
Wow! Tomorrow is Columbus Day. Does that mean the government is closed for the day or still just shutdown? Or does it just mean that federal employees and programs and the customers of those programs are still being cheated? Yeah, I'll go with door number three, Monty.

I don't think this relationship ended well
As I sat behind this car at the pharmacy window, I felt like a psychic. I don't know how, but I just had this feeling that this person's relationship with a law enforcement official did not go well.

Lesson for the week
I've realized that the best tools in the world are useless unless you actually use them. I have so many books on marketing, promotions, and how to scare people in elevators on my shelves and in my Kindle. Then I forget to read them. Not really the most efficient method.
This week I decided to grab one resource that I already have and pick one idea to do. I went to LinkedIn and actually visited my groups. The Book Marketing Group was great! I went from 14 lonely followers on my Facebook page for UnCommon Sense to 78 in one day. Hmmmm. I can't wait to see what's in the next book for me to try!
Please visit unCommon Sense and like it if you like it! (That made sense when I said it?) https://www.facebook.com/UncommonSense101 This is the current book in progress to be released soon. It combines the silliness of me at home and the workplace. So, basically it shows you why I had to leave the 9 to 5 world.

Step by Step Book Marketing - Let's do this together!
Yes, I'm going backwards. And I'd like you to join me in this adventure.
When I released my most recent book, I was all set to tour, to speak to anyone who stood still long enough, and to scare people in elevators. Then, on the day of my first booksigning, my mother fell and broke her ankle. I'm her caregiver, so that diverted my attention for a bit.
Then, as I was getting set for a second try of touring, she fell and broke her hip. Okay, I can take a hint. It's time to try something new.
So now, I have decided to see what I can do with this book -- completely virtually. I'll tour online, post, and use the social media to see if I can give this book the chance it deserves.
I'd like to invite you to join me. I'll list activities I'm doing on here and tell you if they worked or not. You can share yours. We can laugh at the fact that I check my Amazon sales stats a couple of times a day and recently found myself partying because I sold two books in one day.
Lowered expectations. That seems to be the key...
Want to join me? Subscribe and share your victories and learning experiences. Then we'll drink a toast to each other and try again!

Sleepwalking
Great. I've started sleepwalking. The upside is that I'm going to start wearing my pedometer to bed so that those steps count on my exercise plan.

What difference can one person make?
The next time I say, "What difference can one person make?" I hope that I remember to look at this video of one fellow, a silly dance, and a world full of people who joined in because for one moment they felt connected to every other being on earth. Here's to more of those moments.
Over 10 million views now, and yes, you can see me at 1:44 in New Orleans if you look on the right side for the chicken hat.

Come play with me in New Orleans!
Really excited to be visiting with that wonderful writing group, SOLA, this weekend and doing a program on
Oh yes, we'll discuss those amazing methods for getting more writing done in less time like ...
Yes, you too can complete 5 major books in 2.5 years like I did with this process. And maybe yours will have proper subject and verb agreement. Mine didn't. But that's another class.
Hope to see you there!

Time Management for Writers.
Oh yes, we'll discuss those amazing methods for getting more writing done in less time like ...
- lying to an editor and telling them you have three chapters completed,
- forcing yourself to give up dark chocolate until you finish your draft, or
- ignoring little things like dust bunnies, your children, and personal hygiene.

Confused?
You might be a little confused if you've tried to reach my website at Christee.biz.
Allow me to explain. I'm trying to do that thing that every writer dreams of. Yes, I'm trying to earn money. So, I'm using my website as my testing ground for the new program I'm creating. It's kind of cool -- it focuses on helping people reach their personal and professional potential.
Of course, since I'm the poster child for ADHD, this project keeps changing. Yes, I have a written plan. No, it's not written in ink. So each week I find myself chasing yet another butterfly and then realizing that I've done it again. I've managed to make a ridiculously simple idea into just a ridiculous idea.
Bear with me, folks. I'm an entrepreneur in training, a person in flux, a writer stuck in her own appendix.
But more exciting and silly things are yet to come and I look forward to sharing them with you. Then you can nod and smile and try to break eye contact so I don't try to sell you anything.
Happy Monday!

The newest superhero: The Fairy CuteMother
After much deliberation, our newest member of the SuperTeam has decreed that her superpower will be overwhelming cuteness.
And so, here she is. By day, simple Cricket the rat terrier. By night, Fairy CuteMother. Tremble criminals. She takes no prisoners.
