Japanese translation of my business book

Succession Planning Basics

This was actually the first of my five business books, and this year it was translated into Japanese. So cool. And I went to Japan to talk about it in July.

Pinch me. I almost feel like a real writer!

Happy 99th Birthday to My Dad!

Jimmie Gabour is 99 today. He'll go to work as usual. Then he'll go to the senior citizens' center at lunch to deliver meals to those who are unable to stand in line to get their food. Yeah, I'm a little proud!

My comedy show is this weekend!

I can hardly wait!!

This Saturday
I get to play with a great group of folks,
laugh at myself,
and raise money for
Arts & Healthcare in Central Louisiana.

It doesn't get much better than that!

I dream of toilet paper? Not hunky bare-chested men?

How embarrassing. I just had to go ask my husband, "Did I just dream that we bought toilet paper?" He informed me that yes, we only have one roll left so I must have dreamed it. So, I dreamed of buying toilet paper... I must get a life...

A face made for radio

Yep -- I was back at my old haunt today. I used to anchor the Jambalaya morning show on KALB TV waaaay back in the 80s. Today I visited to promote the Arts & Healthcare Comedy Show I'll be doing on October 20. If you're in the Alexandria area, here's the video with the info to order tickets. The 6:30 show is sold out, but there are still tickets available for the 8:00 show.

Lots of fun in the coming weeks! Come play!

Thanks to everyone who visited with me at ArtWalk in Alexandria, Louisiana yesterday. It was a blast and is just the start of a very busy time for me.

I'll be on KALB TV Jambalaya Tuesday morning talking about the comedy show and KLAX TV in the evening.

The next week I'll be speaking to Alexandria Rotary Club Tuesday, presenting a fun Train the Trainer Program Thursday, and doing two stand-up comedy shows on Saturday.

After that, I plan to be unconscious for a week.

So, all in all, lots of fun ahead!

Today's the day! This afternoon at 4, ArtWalk kicks off in Downtown Alexandria. Great music, arts, and fun ... along with our table for Arts & Healthcare, where we'll have tickets to the October 20th comedy show, and I'll even be autographing copies of my latest book, In Celebration of Elastic Waistbands.

Come help us celebrate!

Free Skype Programs for Libraries

I'd like to offer your library a free Skype session to introduce you to the easiest and cheapest way to get more authors to visit your patrons. I'll do this practice session with you free of charge. Really!! (I'm a very lonely person...) It takes no effort, no big equipment, and uses free software. How can you beat that?

And there are other opportunities for us to play together too!

I can do a Skype program for your library's patrons or staff that will prove that it's possible to link laughter and learning.

Visit my website at Christee.biz for my list of topics, including my most requested program, "A Celebration of Elastic Waistbands." This program is free too if you purchase my book for your library! Cool, huh?

Contact me at Christee@Christee.biz to claim your free class or just to brainstorm!

Thanks!
Christee

Skype Class this week

I'm so excited that I'll be doing a Skype Class this week for a 5th grade in Colorado. They are doing the coolest thing called Ameritowne, where they run the town for a day. I'll be teaching them about interviewing, being good employees and managers, and other business skills. What a great idea!

Flying lessons

No one agrees on who wrote this. No one agrees on the exact wording.
But one thing we do agree on is that this is the perfect inspiration for uncertain times.
Here's wishing you a day filled with wonderful flying lessons!

My recent trip to Tokyo reminded me that Mark Twain was right.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” Mark Twain

It's Friday! We've made it through another week. We're all geniuses.

Week two of no voice. Tests tomorrow.

Good news is that the loss of my voice has totally made me forget about my broken nose... Which my doc says adds character. Hmm, like I need any more character?!

And, as these things have helped remind me -- Never, ever, ever jokingly ask, "What else could go wrong?"

Yeah, yeah. The moose did it! And the dog ate my homework. And while we're at it, I'm fairly sure that video killed the radio star...

So honored and excited!!

I am so honored to be invited as keynote speaker at a conference in Tokyo of 10,000 human resource professionals.

Now I'm trying to learn some Japanese phrases. I'm just hoping I don't confuse "I'm so happy to be here" with "Your mother shares many traits with the noble walrus"...
